How Does The System Work?
Ceramic Heat, Ions, Cationic Hydration Interlink and Silk permanently transform frizzy, curly, wavy or coarse hair into silky controlled straighter hair.
What are Ions?
An ion is an atom that has gained or lost an electron and carries a charge of energy. Ions are found in two forms – positive and negative.
Hair in itself is negatively charged. Silk is positively charged. By the law of physics, in nature opposites attract.
Why The Ceramic Heat?
Not all flat irons are created equal. Irons on the market today are either metal or ceramic plated. This causes uneven heat distribution. The result is dehydrated flyaway hair, loss of moisture and premature color fade.
Never use a non-ceramic iron on transformed hair.
The CHI irons we use are solid ceramic. Ceramic conducts and maintains heat more efficiently than
any other material known to man. It provides a moist heat that maintains the moisture levels in hair and it produces negative ions. The negative ions help to push the silk molecules permanently deep inside the cortex. The results are soft, smooth, shiny and silky hair.
What is Cationic Hydration Interlink?
Cationic Hydration Interlink is a positively charged molecule that provides moisture and links into the hair fiber. If you recall from above, Silk is positively charged. The combination of silk and moisture penetrate into the hair to build strength and resilience.
During your transformation treatment silk is constantly used to repair and improve the condition of the hair.
Is it possible to see how my hair could look before I permanently transform my hair? How much would it cost?
Absolutely, we will shampoo, condition, dry and flat iron your hair using the silk technology. Your hair will look the same when it is permanently transformed. It takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
How long does it take?
The transformation takes approximately 3 ½ to 4 ½ hours.
How often do I need to retouch my hair?
Your hair will need to be retouched somewhere between six and nine months. We retouch the regrowth only.
What will my hair feel and look like after the transformation?
Your hair will feel silky smooth and have tons of shine. You can expect your curly, wavy or frizzy hair to be a thing of the past.
What do I have to do to maintain my transformed hair?
Preferably shampoo and condition with the CHI maintenance products. They contain silk to keep your hair looking its best. However, you can use any other professional shampoo or conditioner. Please keep in mind that over the counter drug store products have a higher pH and could damage your newly transformed hair.
You can blow dry and flat iron your transformed hair if you choose but it is not necessary. Ceramic dryers and irons are highly recommended for styling. You can also natural dry your hair.
What about hair color after the transformation?
Deposit only non-ammonia color can be used the same day as the transformation. Any other color or highlights requires a strand test. We do not endorse or guarantee the transformation if home or other salon hair color is used. Correct product match and application are critical.
I had my hair previously straightened. Can I have it retouched with the CHI system?
Yes we can straighten your hair with the CHI system provided it has not been straightened with a sodium hydroxide or calcium hydroxide relaxer. If we are unsure or concerned about previous products used on your hair we will do a strand test.
